Devotional:
If many of us were to spend time examining our past, we’d see some things we would rather forget. The times we completely ignored the Word of God. The times we used our words to break someone down. And even the times we turned our back on those who may have needed us the most.
The truth is, each of us have done things that have left streaks on our “perfect” records. At times, some of us have spent ample time trying to erase the mistakes of the past. Not realizing, only present action, can change the course of our future. But this isn’t the focus today.
The focus is, why does God choose us imperfect beings to accomplish His perfect plans on Earth? Why does He continue to stretch out His hand to us, when we turn away? And why does He concern Himself with the most intimate details of our being?
It’s His love. A love so pure, so unadulterated and full of divine goodness. A love that sees past every flaw and covers them with grace.
So the next time you ask God why me? Remember that it’s His everlasting love for you and for the greater purpose that reaches beyond you.
Scripture(s) Meditation:
“The Lord appeared to me (Israel) from ages past, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you.”

Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below.
What are some of the streaks on your less than perfect record? How has God’s Grace covered your flaws? How has God’s love encouraged you to live on fire for Him?
