Have my heart

Devotional:

Out of all the impressions the Holy Spirit places on my heart during the day, it was this specific moment that took me by surprise. He began to speak through an utterance from deep in the crevices of my spirit, “you can have my heart.” Instantly, I began to feel this weight removed from me.

How many of you consider protecting your heart as your responsibility, and in turn bear the weight of that burden? Many of you have created these difficult mazes to keep people out, not realizing you have also been keeping God out. I’ve learned that God wants all of us. And on this particular day, I realized He wanted the very thing that controls my good and bad days. The emotions and the responsibility of protecting my heart.

I want you to consider speaking forth that same utterance the Holy Spirit spoke through me that day. "God, you can have my heart." As you do so, allow that burden you've been carrying to fall to the ground. As you hear it's thud, experience the flood of God's freeing power filling all parts of your being. In this moment, I want you to realize, there's no greater satisfaction than this right here. That the God of all creation, is able to guard your heart, better than you ever could...

Scripture(s) Meditation:

"Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’"

Matthew 22:37 NKJV

Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below.

Why do you keep your heart so closely guarded and protected? Do you trust that God will protect your heart better than you can?

I love this so much! ❤️

I have been listening, daily, to “My Hallelujah“ by Tribl & Maverick City and the part that gets me in tears every time is “I will bring my heart. I will lift my song.” I’m reminded in that moment that I can bring my heart to God as it is. Broken, distant, hardened, afraid—how ever it may be at that time. Doesn’t matter how it looks, he wants it all….& it is when I am open with him that he can truly comfort me in whatever process of the journey I’m in.

Thank you for sharing this Sun’ray!
