Devotional:
When I think of the word trust, I think of a solid foundation. One that isn’t easily moved or shaken. Instead, no matter what comes up against it, it remains. And quite honestly, this is how we should view our selves. One mighty oak of trust, that’s solidly rooted in Him.
But too often when the circumstances of life kick in, do we abandon our foundation. In place of it, we decide to drown in the waves of the storm. Completely ignoring that He can make the storm cease, and cause our souls to rest at ease.
I think we get so caught up with the way we want things to work, that we forget who’s in control. Not realizing abandoning our trust in Him, causes us to experience a satanic free fall. If circumstances completely uproot our trust in Him, it’s worth exploring whether we truly trust Him anyways.
Some of you might be going through difficult circumstances, allow me to challenge you. Instead of uprooting yourself, take the time now to learn to trust Him. Don’t wait for the house, the car or the new job. Start now, at what you deem your lowest. Trust me, it will only strengthen you!
Scripture(s) Meditation:
““But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.””
Jeremiah 17:7-8 NIV
