Devotional:
Uncertainty is like the rotted wooden steps on a condemned home. Though they may appear normal, in reality they can’t support our weight. As soon as we take our first step, they instantly crumble. Causing us to crumble right along with them.
On this walk of faith, there are many uncertain situations we’ll face. And it’s easy to momentarily root our faith in what we can or even expect to see. But the basis of our faith, should be in God alone.
We must learn to not trust our situations, for they are only rotten stairs. Things that appear one way, but in reality leads our faith to crumble. Instead of putting so much emphasis on the outcome of our situations, let us remember who’s in control of it. Because, even though our situation may be uncertain, God’s plan concerning us isn’t.
Remember, lean not on your own understanding. Instead, trust God.
Scripture(s) Meditation:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV
"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him."
Jeremiah 17:7 NIV
