Devotional:
According to research, humans have on average more than 6,000 thoughts per day. As believers, our thought lives are very important to the paths we lead and the plans we establish. Scripture tells us that as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. Therefore, a thought is not just a thought. A thought is the delicately crafted plan that precedes an action.
But what happens when our thoughts are constantly out of alignment with God's will? Slowly but surely, we begin to turn the once straightened path into a crooked one. Where there once was clarity, confusion soon begins to emerge. And purposeful works eventually become purpose-less. Before we know it, we are in a place we never thought we'd be.
Without the proper checks and balances in place, a simple thought becomes the root basis of a downward spiraling spiritual life. Though our spirits are new, our souls are the ones that hold the patterns and habits of the old. No matter how far along this journey we find ourselves, we must always work to renew our minds.
Because it is by renewing our minds, that we stay properly aligned...

What are the thoughts you constantly have, that are out of alignment of God's will? How have you noticed these thoughts leading you on a different path? What will you do, to get back to where you need to be?
