Devotional: The Prophetic number "40", deals greatly with a trial period of judgment, testing and maturation. Upon completion of a trial, a new you emerges. As lovely as this can be, you must pay careful attention to how you navigate this new level. Because of this new you, there needs to be new maintenance regulations. You wouldn’t maintain a Toyota in the same way you would a Mercedes right? Of course not! There are distinct parts and solutions needed to maintain the integrity of each vehicle. Upon exiting your trial period, the same goes for you. You will have to follow new instructions. It's truly "new levels and new devils." What you could once do on a previous level, won't work here. You will find yourself frustrated trying to do old things while being in a "new wineskin." Remember, scripture tells us that you can't mix the old and the new. You will cause yourself more damage than good. So how can you prevent bursting the wineskin? Do new things on this new level. How do you determine what those new things are? Simply seek the Lord concerning the new maintenance plan He has for you. It will be one that will help you maintain yourself in this new season, on this new level. Scripture(s) Meditation: “His Lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.’” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”” ‭‭Mark‬ ‭2‬:‭21‬-‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. What is this new level that you are on? Do you know what is expected of you at this level? What are the old habits or behaviors preventing you from putting the new into the new? How will you prevent yourself from mixing the old and the new? Sun'Ray💕

  • You are so close, don’t give up now! (10/11/2022)

Devotional: Today, I wanted to encourage someone who finds themself in between a rock and a hard place. A part of you wants to believe the words God has spoken, but the other part of you is ready to give up. You may feel that you've done all you can do and that God doesn't hear you. But let this encouragement serve as a reminder, that you are so close to what God has for you. The other day I decided to go down memory lane. I opened my journal from late 2020. In this journal comprised most of my journey towards Houston. From the couch, to the airBNB's and the things in between. I landed on a page from 11/16/2020 where I discussed how tired I was. Let me share an excerpt of this letter below with you: " Dear God, I am coming humbly before you. IDK how much longer I can be strong, I am tired. My heart hurts and more importantly I just feel so forgotten about. I don't know what can be done but I swear a change is needed. I just don't feel great right now and I know that feeling like this is normal and okay. I just want to shut myself off from the world and disappear. I have had enough, I can't smile anymore. I just want to feel that overwhelming peace but I honestly can't help but feel like nothing is going to get better. How can I focus when I am in a disruptive place not only in life, but internally as well. I am tired of patching up wounds and open to allowing myself to feel all of this..." The letter continues on with me pouring my heart out to God and then beginning to encourage myself. Would y'all believe me if I told y'all two weeks later I received a five thousand dollar grant? A grant that God told me I'd use to get to Houston? Had I known then what was coming, I would've praised God a little harder! But isn't that the beauty of serving God? We never truly know how close we are to that promise He has for us. Sometimes those feelings we have are indications that our breakthrough is near. So today, let this encourage you that you are so close... Don't give up now! Scripture(s) Meditation: “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. What are the emotions you are facing currently? What are the scriptures you're using to keep you rooted in your faith? Sun'Ray💕

  • Everything happens for a reason (5/17/2022)

Devotional: There are many moments I had in my life where I sat pondering, “why me?” Wondering if I did something wrong or if God was mad at me. However, whenever I run across scripture, I am reminded that all things happen for a reason. In the midst of the situation, it seems like everything is falling apart. It seems as if you have no way out. But that's the beauty of God's sovereignty. He only gives us puzzle pieces as He weaves together the entire picture of what we call "our lives." There are some corners and areas of our lives that God has revealed His intent and other areas that He hasn't. But if you trusted God to reveal what was once unclear, that's all the more reason you should trust God with the areas that aren't as clear now. View your life as a pointillism masterpiece. To see what this looks like, click here. But essentially viewing your life this way will help you understand why some things make sense and others don't. The closer you are to a pointillism portrait, the more messy and unclear the image seems. But as you walk further and further back, you can see the beauty of the overall image. Trust and know that God sees the beauty of everything working together in your life. Even when you don't have the logic to fit all the pieces together, know that He does. Be comforted in knowing that everything happens for a reason. Scripture(s) Meditation: “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭50‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. Today, I want many of you to focus on your past situations. Those moments where you thought the world was ending and you didn’t see a way out. Take some time and journal down how you felt then and how you feel about it now. Did your feelings change? Did that situation occur so something greater could happen in your life? How did God work out that situation for your advantage? Once you’ve done this, I want you to apply that knowledge to the current circumstance you are going through now. Sun'Ray💕

  • Waiting on God…

Devotional: For me, waiting has always been the hardest thing for me to do. Are there any other “go-getters” out there? For those of you who don’t know, “go-getters” are those individuals that have no issue in doing what they have to, to get what they need. Doing things this way can be beneficial but also very harmful for one’s health. I can assure you many Christians have struggled greatly with waiting on the Lord. I mean, can you blame them? The society we live in normalizes the "work hard, play hard" mentality. Apparently if you aren't working super hard, then that means you won't ever be successful. But isn't the success of Kingdom children, fueled by the very presence of God? Waiting on God doesn't always mean you do absolutely nothing. There are variations of "waiting." As my students used to say, "it levels to this!" But I've learned it primarily means you develop this stillness in the way you move daily. Instead of doing whatever your flesh leads you to, you move by the inspiration of God's Spirit. Simply put, you become a sheep in the sheepfold, relying on God to be the Good Shepherd in your life. Meaning you don't move too far ahead, nor do you drag sluggishly behind. How do you wait on God? Scripture(s) Meditation: “I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, And in His word I do hope. My soul waits for the Lord More than those who watch for the morning— Yes, more than those who watch for the morning.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭130‬:‭5‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Song Meditation: Be Still by Travis Greene (this song played in my Spirit as I wrote this) Listen to today's song meditation by clicking here. Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. What does "waiting on God" even mean to you? In your ideal world, how does that look? What changes can you make to better position yourself to wait on God? Sun'Ray💕

  • The Set Time is NOW! (Prophetic Word 10/17/2022)

Devotional: When God speaks, you must make time to listen. The set time is now. Set time references the appointed time of God. This has also been called a "kairos" moment. It's a pre-determined time by God for something to occur. The roles have been reversed of where you went from praying to something to now walking in it. It's not on your own behalf, but simply a 'divine' reversal. The places and thoughts you allowed to inhabit your dwelling place (soul) must be removed. It's a new season which not only requires a perspective shift but a change in the motion you carry. Motion meaning the way in which you do things and the places in which you do them. With an appointed time in your life also comes the weight of God's glory. Just by carrying this alone, you won't be able to behave in the way you used to. The set time is now, no looking or even reaching back. Be forward focused and have your mind set on purpose. The table is being prepared in front of your enemies. You are seated in the chief position, because God has placed you there. God is about to pour you a cup of blessings that shall overflow. There's no time to shy back or feel sorry, this is God honoring you. The set time is now... Listen to the podcast for the FULL prophetic word here! Scripture(s) Meditation: “You will arise and have mercy on Zion; For the time to favor her, Yes, the set time, has come.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭102‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭102‬:‭13‬ ‭NIV‬‬ “A little one shall become a thousand, And a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭60‬:‭22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. How does this prophetic word apply to you in this season? Sun'Ray💕

  • First Fruits

Devotional: Back in the Bible days, the Israelite children would honor God by giving Him their first fruits. This would include their produce but also the cattle they'd use as a sacrifice. There is even this appointed feast in the Spring called "Feast of First Fruits" where they all bring the best and first of their Spring Harvest. A feast that displayed the Israelite's understanding that without God they would have nothing. In today's world, though there are some farmers out there, this same principle can be applied in a different way. Because of busy schedules and lives, we have often succumbed to giving God whatever it is that we have left. The issue with this is that it's missing the culture of honor. When we don't honor God with what He has given us, how can we expect for Him to cause us to overflow? I am not mentioning a "you do, God does" principle here, but a practical Biblical principle. A culture of honor welcomes the presence of God and His presence brings prosperity. When you wake up, you should give God your attention first. Not after you've been boggled down with social media notifications or bill payment reminders, but before. Whenever you pray or sing His praises, it shouldn't be half heartedly but done with such reverence in an intentional manner. First fruits also involves choosing to put God first, even before yourself. Because lets be real, without Him you indeed would be nothing. And apart from Him you would bear no fruit. (John 15) So what's my instruction? Honor God, put Him first and give Him your very best! Watch how He increases you! Scripture(s) Meditation: “Honor the Lord with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭16‬:‭2‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Song Meditation: First Always by Jonathan McReynolds Listen to today's song meditation here. Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. What are your first fruits to God? What currently keeps you from giving God your first fruits? What will you do to ensure you create a culture of honor around in your daily fellowship with God? Sun'Ray💕

  • Wrong Direction

Devotional: After being on the bus for over 15 years, I grew accustomed to knowing each route and where it could take me. I became so reliant on the bus, that whenever I had to drive a car, I didn't know how to follow the navigation directions Siri gave. I'd always turn too early or too late. But you know one thing I absolutely loved about the maps feature? No matter how many turns I "missed", it would always recalibrate and give new directions to reach the same destination. You know who this reminds me of? Jonah. The young prophet sent to Nineveh, but decided he wanted to do his own thing. Instead of God punishing him, he simply created the perfect storm to draw Jonah back to himself. Though he experienced some turbulence, it only brought him closer to God. It was beautiful to see that even in his mishaps and mistakes that God still used him in the way He originally designed. In life, it may seem that you are going in the wrong direction. Where you heard what God said, but somehow you still ended up on a completely different path. Today, I want to encourage you that even when you slip up, God can recalibrate your life to still get you to where He needs you to be. Once you reach your destination, you will see that God worked every pit-stop and pit-fall out for your good. So instead of exiting out of the app and thinking that all hope is lost. I encourage you to be still and allow God to recalibrate you and get you on the right track. If God could do it for Jonah, know that He can do it for you! Watch this teaching. Scripture(s) Meditation: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “But the Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up.” ‭‭Jonah‬ ‭1‬:‭4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” ‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. What direction has God instructed you to go in? Which direction did you choose instead? What turbulence have you run into because of your disobedience? How will you use this experience to draw closer unto God? Sun'Ray💕

  • You can’t decide where you give birth…

Devotional: A mother to be spends ample time preparing for the day that she will bring life into this world. One of the major preparation points involves selecting the place of birth. Will it be in the birthing room at a nearby hospital or an at home water birth? Or will it be at one of those "fancy" speciality centers? Though this arrangement is made, there's still one fact that remains. "You can't decide where you give birth." When the baby has decided it's time to exit the birth canal, that is the time at which birthing happens. It won't wait for the most perfect or pristine conditions, despite how much preparation is made. Can I pose this theory? I believe the same thing happens in regards to birthing our spiritual promises in the physical. Though we may have spent months imagining how or where those things will come forth, God will cause them to come in the most unexpected manner. You can anticipate it, but you can't decide exactly when it arrives. This is why we must continue to remain focused on the promise giver and not necessarily the promise. Because if we aren't careful, we will cause unnecessary disappointments and frustrations that will keep us from adequately preparing for the promises' arrival. You can give birth in your car, at the church, at the nail salon or even at the lowest point of your life. It won't always be the prettiest surroundings, but the fulfillment of a promise will quickly make you forget all the toiling and sacrifice it took to get there. So instead of worrying about the when, just make sure you are prepared to receive your promise when it comes forth! Scripture(s) Meditation: “A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world.” ‭‭John‬ ‭16‬:‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. In the past, what has the birthing process looked like for you? What were your "symptoms"? Did you struggle with doubt or fear? What was the timing between the initial symptoms and the birthing? Did the timing matter when the promise arrived? Sun'Ray💕

  • “The Cono Sto”

Devotional: I still remember those days when my mother would give my siblings and I a few dollars to go to the "cono store." I would take my few dollars, get some Krunchy Kurls, a juice, now and laters and a star crunch! And on days where I was feeling a little fancy I'd get the big bag of chips and a soda too lol! As a kid it was something so exhilarating about that experience that provided me with so much joy. How could something so simple bring such a refreshing? There are some things we lose as we transition from a child to an adult, that need to be lost. As an adult you don't think or speak as a child anymore, but there are some things we lose that need to be brought back. Simplicity is one. Could it be that many of us find ourselves depleted on this walk with God because we overcomplicate things? Could it be that we just need to go to the "cono sto" to experience the refreshing we seek? Think about it, everything you would ever need is located at the "cono sto." But it does require you to locate that younger version of yourself that saw the beauty in simplicity. That version of you that once longed and desired to go to the place where joy and peace could be found. It didn't take a million sermons, prayer calls or fasts to get you there. It was the joyful memories you had in such a simple place that kept you coming back. Today, I want to speak to that adult that has become so tirelessly wrapped in being overly complicated. I want to encourage you to let down those heavy burdens and take a walk to the "cono sto." I promise you that God will meet you there, and He will supply all your needs. But you first, have to get there. Scripture(s) Meditation: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11‬:‭28‬-‭29‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. What were some experiences you can vividly remember about the trips you took to the "cono sto"? If you never had a "cono sto" experience, what in your childhood represented that place for you? What were some memories you had there? How can you equate that place to the secret place you have with God? What burdens will you lay aside to make the place where you meet God one of simplicity and of pure joy and peace? Sun'Ray💕

  • Turn my swag on!

Devotional: "Hopped up out the bed, turn my swag on. Took a look in the mirror, said, "What's up?" (Turn my Swag on by Soulja Boy) When I was a kid, I used to love this song. But as I got older I started to notice something a little bit more serious concerning this song that I could relate to. When I was in the world just living, I hopped out my bed each day and turned something else on. Anxiety, stress, emotions and anything else toxic I could get my hands on. Here I thought I had swag, but all it really was, was sad. Now you know that was funny lol. But as I drew closer to God, I began to notice the importance of that first five minutes of waking up. Whatever I chose to turn on within those first five minutes literally set the pace for my entire day. It even took me a while to realize I had a choice. That I didn't always have to side with my emotions and could instead choose the truth and knowledge of God. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) If you find yourself having a bad day or things not going well, I want you to take a few steps backwards. What did you turn on that morning? I can almost guarantee you that whatever you turned on was indeed the root cause of the day you had. Sometimes it's not what happens in our day but what happened at the start of it. Scripture(s) Meditation: “Therefore, I say this and testify in the Lord: You should no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thoughts.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬ ‭CSB‬‬ “Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬ ‭CSB‬‬ Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. What is your normal routine in the morning? What starts the first five minutes of your day? Does those first five minutes currently help you or cause hindrances for you? What will your new five minute routine be? What will you decide to "put on" each morning? Sun'Ray💕

  • A Joyful Season (Prophetic Word)

The Word (2/22/23): “I will bring fresh vegetation to the places that were once deserted. Those who have laid for years in the desolate and wasteful places will rejoice at the coming rains. For a season my glory will be made known again. There shall not be a place that my glory won’t reach. Smiles shall fill the hearts and faces of those who once were full of sadness. Weeping shall be no more! Joy will be the fruit of the land! " Scripture(s) Meditation: “The wilderness and the wasteland shall be glad for them, And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose; It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, Even with joy and singing. The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, The excellence of Carmel and Sharon. They shall see the glory of the Lord, The excellency of our God.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭35‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Sun'Ray💕

  • “Tear down the veil”

Devotional: When Jesus' spirit departed from His body while on the cross, the veil that separated man from God's presence was torn. (Matthew 27:51) From that point forward, sin could no longer be a hindrance to keep us from the presence of God. However recently, God revealed to me there are many of us who have hung up our own veils restricting ourselves from deeper intimacy with Him. Today, God has come to "tear down the veil." In ancient days, majority of the people spent their time doing work or caring for their families. Though the method through which work is done has changed, the "busyness" of life hasn't. I could mention many other veils that we have risen in the place of the one that God tore down, but "busyness" seems to be every single person's common denominator. Why has "busyness" become such a thing? We live in a time where busy schedules and "no sleep" is a good thing. In God's eyes, it's something that blocks Him from accessing us. If you were to ask most people what keeps them from pursuing God, nine times out of ten, it will be a scheduling conflict. There are even those who pride themselves on the scheduled times they have to sit with God. When God Himself lives in a dimension that operates outside of space or time. How that work sway? I'm not discouraging those who have schedules set, trust me, God loves any moment He can spend with you. But there are many of us who keep busy to keep ourselves from going deeper. I come today to encourage you to lay down your schedule. To prioritize God in the way that you prioritize the things of the world. A simple shift can completely change the entire trajectory of your life. God has come into your space and is tearing down the veil. He wants to sup with you. Will you let Him in? Scripture(s) Meditation: “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” ‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. What is the veil that you have placed between you and God? Is it shame and guilt? If so, forgive yourself as the Father has already forgiven you. Whatever your veil is, surrender yourself to God, and watch Him "tear down the veil." Sun'Ray💕
