  • The Soul's Cry

Devotional: Sometimes, you find yourself in a place you thought you'd never be again. The place that's full of both darkness and despair. As you reach out for the spiritual tools (prayer, fasting, worshiping etc) that have helped you before, it seems like they are so far from your reach. What once was enough, has now completely stagnated you, and you're on the brink of falling. There's a cry, that comes from deep within the bowels of every believer. A groan so deep that only God's ears are attuned to hear. To the unsuspecting believer, it seems like just another scrabble with the Kingdom of Darkness. However, there's something brewing that's much deeper than meets the eye. It's a soul, that's in desperate need of God's presence. It is in these moments that believers revert back to their animalistic nature. Beginning to make decisions solely on the pleasures and desires of their flesh. All because, they can't properly translate the cry that comes from deep within. The beauty though, is they don't have to. The simple solution, is to find the presence of God and stay there. What the Lord fills up, indeed lacks nothing... Scripture(s) Meditation: "My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God." Psalm 84:2 NIV Song(s) Meditation: Lovesick (feat. Chandler Moore & Siri Worku) / Maverick City Music To listen to today's song meditation, click here. Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. Do you believe that your soul is crying out to God? How has this deep cry manifested in the physical? After this devotional, what are you going to do to give your soul what it needs? What it most desires? Sun'Ray💕

  • Who's it for?

Devotional: It’s so easy for us to equate what we do to what we see. While being a prisoner for the lord, it can seem very tiring and unrewarding. Contrary to the ways of the world, there aren’t always immediate returns on what you choose to pour out. However, we all know that one apple seed yields multiple trees. That one word spoken to encourage another, can shift a multitude of generations. Trust me, I get it. You’re tired of pouring out and you’re ready to see a return. But patience is a virtue that’s deeply rewarded in God’s Kingdom. So as you wait for the coming harvest, let me share this one piece of wisdom to help you endure… When you find yourself questioning your pour, remember who and what you’re doing it for. Scripture(s) Meditation: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." Colossians 3:23-24 NIV "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9 NIV Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. How did God introduce you to a life of servanthood? What was it about serving then, that brought you much joy? How can you use that, to kindle your fire now? Sun'Ray💕

  • Broken Vessels

Devotional: Perfection is the perfect cover for any voids we may have. If we can work to paint the perfect images of our lives, people wouldn't dare to question what lies behind them. The search for our flaws would actually seem quite irrelevant. But in a world that perfect, where is there room for God? Scripture says, that God's strength is made perfect in our weaknesses. So why do people strive to be perfect on their own? If you ask me, there’s a deeper void beneath the surface that’s driving their quest. They truly seek acceptance, love and significance. But can striving to appear perfect, amongst a world full of imperfect humans accomplish that task? Apparently not. We must all come to accept that our brokenness is beautiful. It is through our brokenness that God’s glory is revealed. It is through our brokenness that generations of trauma are healed. And, it is through our brokenness that chains are loosed and captives are set free. The more cracks in our vessels, the greater His light shines. Without our brokenness, we could never see how great God could be. Scripture(s) Meditation: "But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us." 2 Corinthians 4:7 NIV Song(s) Meditation: Perfect People by The Walls Group To listen to today's song meditation, click here. • Be still and know

Devotional: There are times, where you may find yourself running frantically in life. No matter how much you try and relax, your mind continues to run on the hamster wheel. While in this place, it’s easy to feel helpless and trapped. But God gives us a simple solution when He says, “Be still and know.” You see, most of us are like a coin when it first hits the ground. Instead of immediately surrendering to the weight of gravity, we find ourselves fighting it. Which in turn leaves us, depleted of energy and even void of emotion. But regardless of its fight, there’s that one moment where the coin must simply, “be still.” The truth is, many of you currently find yourself in this exact position. Where you are running from what is, maybe because you miss what was. But, it’s time for you to surrender to the weight of God on your life and allow Him to have His way. I mean, He’s the one in control anyways, right? Scripture(s) Meditation: "He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”" Psalm 46:10 NIV Song(s) Meditation: Stand Still by The Walls Group To listen to today's song meditation, click here. Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. Let's keep it simple today, what keeps you from surrendering? Sun'Ray💕

  • The Broken Glass

Devotional: Ever so often, I find myself catching brief glimpses into memories of the past. Sometimes these memories stir up great joy and other times they bring on a wave of great sadness. However emotionally polarizing these memories might be, there’s a common undertone that unites them all. Each of these memories comes with a lesson of its own. One day, I found myself pulling a glass pan of roasted sweet potatoes out the oven. As their garlicky aroma filled the kitchen, I was instantly brought into the reality of a distant memory. I saw a younger version of my hands placing a hot glass pan into soapy dish water. Suddenly, the pan broke into many giant pieces. Snapping back to reality, I realized that in this present moment I could not make that same mistake. As I let the glass pan cool on the stove, this simple revelation came to me. Though there are some moments from our past that may traumatize us or even leave a wound, there's something about the memory of it all. There’s a hidden power in the lessons each memory stores. It keeps us from approaching a similar situation with a failed result. And it also keeps us from having broken glass in our hands. Learn to value the memories of your past and appreciate the absence of the broken glass… Scripture(s) Meditation: "As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly." Proverbs 26:11 NIV Song(s) Meditation: Movin' On by Jonathan McReynolds To listen to today's song meditation, click here. Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. Have you learned from your past mistakes? Do you use the lessons you've learned in the past to help you in your present? What situation/circumstance are you currently facing that you can apply previously learned lessons to? How does the nature of the previous situation give you greater perspective of where you are now? • Desperate for an answer

Devotional: What is it about a difficult situation that causes us to scramble? Not only are our thoughts scrambled, but also the discernment of our situations too. Instead of facing the situation with a level mind, many of us begin to make erratic decisions. Decisions that may bring present satisfaction, but ultimately have long-lasting detrimental effects. The truth is, we desire to be comfortable. When faced with discomfort, the normal human reaction is to shift into a posture that relieves the tension. However, it is through embracing the discomfort where we grow the most. If you give into your flesh and are hasty with your decisions, you may very well fall into the deceptive trap of the enemy. Remember, it is our desperation that leads to deception. In a moment where you need an immediate answer from God, the best thing you can do, is "be still." Allow your soul to come at rest with God, and understand that He is leading you. Understand that His Word is a lamp to your path, and that though the world is rushing you, there's no need for you to. And when the powerful wind, earthquake and fire passes, you will hear the still small voice of the Lord, directing you gently onto the right path. Scripture(s) Meditation: "Desire without knowledge is not good— how much more will hasty feet miss the way!" Proverbs 19:2 NIV "The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of theLord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”" 1 Kings 19:11-13 NIV "It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord" Lamentations 3:26 NIV Song(s) Meditation: Wait on You by Elevation Music & Maverick City Worship To listen to today's song meditation, click here. Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. What situation are you in currently that requires an immediate answer? What is keeping you from stilling your soul before the Lord? What do you gain by sitting still before Him? Sun'Ray💕

  • Your winning season! (A Prophetic Word)

Devotional: Can I ask you a question? How does a person perceive life when they've constantly taken loss after loss? Do they have excitement when things go well or are they fearful of what trouble is coming next around the corner? Most of you would agree that this person can't embrace the present joy, because their focus is already on the next difficulty. The truth is, many of you are stepping into a winning season. Where things will begin to happen almost seemingly one after the other. And instead of barely enjoying the blessing(s) in front of you, God desires you to take it all in. Otherwise, you will turn a great blessing into a great burden. You will never be able to enjoy the life God gives when you are looking at your present through a past lens. Don't allow worry or fear to whisk away the great blessings God is bringing in your life. You went through the toil and struggle, it's only right that you enjoy the fruits of your labor! It's time for you to re-write that mental narrative of fear and prepare yourself to bask in the goodness that the Lord is bringing to you. Scripture(s) Meditation: “For to everyone who has [and values his blessings and gifts from God, and has used them wisely], more will be given, and [he will be richly supplied so that] he will have an abundance; but from the one who does not have [because he has ignored or disregarded his blessings and gifts from God], even what he does have will be taken away." Matthew 25:29 AMP Song(s) Meditation: You Will Win by Jekalyn Carr To listen to today's song meditation, click here. Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. Why do you think it's hard for people to accept the idea of a "winning season?" Do you believe that even in the bad times there's a peaceful place of rest for you? If so, then what keeps you or others from fully embracing the good things God brings? Sun'Ray💕

  • Get back up again...

Devotional: Sometimes we can be on a dark road for such a long time, that we begin to look to those we pass to accept us. The harsh reality is those very people are the first to reject us. They know your flaws, they know your past and because of that, they are quick to abandon you. And when you want to come out of that place, it’s like you can’t find the hand to help pull you out. When I found myself in a toxic homosexual relationship for four years and using weed to cope, I wanted a way out. I could hear the subtle cry beneath the laughter and scars I hid. But, when I looked around in my darkness, it was just me there alone. With my anxious thoughts swirling around me and tormenting me. I felt powerless, and just wanted the thoughts to stop. I wanted a sliver of peace, even for only a second. Not too long after a great emotional breakdown, there was a soft voice that came through the noise. The voice was distant, but sounded so familiar. It was God, calling me back to Him. He knew the girl I had become was just a result of carrying so much trauma and pain alone. Though I’m sure He remembered the day I walked away, it didn’t matter to Him at that moment, because He knew His hurt daughter needed Him more than ever. That was the day that counted. Because that was the day I got up. Someone out there, has fallen. You have slipped away from your Father. But let me tell you, He is right there with His right hand extended out towards you. He’s ready to pull you out. But you just need to get up again. Man, will look past you. Man, will even reject you. But God, your Father, will always accept you. (Psalm 94:14) Whomever you are, it’s time to get up again… Scripture(s) Meditation: "For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief." What has caused you to fall? Why are you afraid to get back up? Do you believe that God can help you better than any human ever could? Sun'Ray💕

  • "But did you die though?"

Devotional: "One day, God calls you and says He's outside and ready to take you on a drive. You've been waiting on this call your entire life, so you drop everything and immediately rush down the stairs. Without hesitation, you open the front passenger door, get in and buckle your seatbelt. At first, the car ride is very gentle and God is speaking quite often to you. Then out of nowhere, He gets silent, His driving becomes more erratic and causes you to begin worrying. You ask Him to slow down and avoid the bumpy roads, but He simply replies, "trust me." And then proceeds to take you on an even wilder route. As you sit there full of worries and doubt, He keeps reminding you that everything is okay, but you aren't quite sure. When God called you, you weren't expecting for the drive to be this rough. Eventually, God slows down and pulls into this business called, "Destiny." He turns to you and says, "before you walk away, open the storage compartment and read what's inside." Expecting some amazing revelation, you lean in the car, open the compartment, but all you see is a sticker that says, "but did you die though?" Then God laughs, and speeds off." If many of you were to look at this last year alone, you'd say it has been very similar to the situation above. What you thought would be an easy ride, turned out to be one of the most scary times of your life. But even with all the twists and turns it brought you, one thing remained true, God has kept you. So even when the road was bumpy, when you didn't know where your provision would come next, when you didn't know how you would make it to the next day, God stayed by your side that entire time. Protecting you, guiding you and more importantly keeping you. Right now, there are some of you so upset with God because of how this last year has been for you. But instead of crying out saying, "GOD, THIS ENTIRE YEAR HAS BEEN SO HARD FOR ME! WHEN WILL I HAVE A HOME?! WHEN WILL I HAVE STABILITY?! WHEN WILL I..." Choose to say, "God, thank you for keeping me. Even though I went through some dark valleys, through every moment, you were right there with me." If God has kept you thus far, how much more is He keeping you right now? Scripture(s) Meditation: "The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand." Psalm 121:5 KJV Song(s) Meditation: My Testimony by Marvin Sapp To listen to today's song meditation, click here. Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. Think over this last year, what were some of the darkest valleys/moments you experienced? How did/has God moved in those moments? What keeps you from seeing God as a keeper? How will you work to change your perspective? Sun'Ray💕

  • Loving eyes…

Devotional: One day, I had this vision of a man standing before a line of people. This man would take time looking at each person. As I examined this scene from far behind, I noticed something. He would look at these people with such love in his eyes. It was like I could feel the purity and sincerity from the place I stood. A love like that felt so rare. When I awoke from this vision, I knew in my spirit, this man represented God. Have you ever taken the time to think about how God looks at you? For me, there were so many moments I felt He would look upon me with shame. But in that one moment, I knew my entire perspective was wrong. God looks at each of us with such a love in His eyes. As I said above, this is a rare love. A love that many of us have never grown to know. Sometimes, I wish I could go back into that vision and relive that moment. A love that's as pure as that won't ever be found in any human. And honestly looking back, I believe that was the bigger takeaway. To understand that the intimate relationship we each have with God is so precious. So special. He takes His time looking at every part of us, even those things that we desire to hide. And yet still looks at us with so much love in His eyes. To someone reading this, God wants you to know that your relationship with Him is honorable and precious in His sight. He values you. No matter what you think, He looks at you with love. Do yourself a great favor today, and open your heart to receive that the Most High God, is so in love with you... Scripture(s) Meditation: “The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.” ‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31‬:‭3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Song(s) Meditation: Lovin' Me by Jonathan McReynolds To listen to today's song meditation, click here. Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. When you think of God looking at you with "loving eyes", how does that make you feel? Does that help change your perspective on how you see God? Sun'Ray💕

  • The truth behind worry

Devotional: For those who've ever struggled with anxiety, you have a very close relationship with worry. I'd compare it to a child's favorite blankie. No matter where they go, they'll drag it with them. In this same way, worry gets dragged along for the ride in whatever situation you're facing or place you visit. Without it, life almost feels abnormal. I know this void, because I've felt it before. In Matthew 6:25 Jesus tells us to not worry about our lives. When looking at the inter-linear text, the Greek Word used for "worry" is merimnaó. (Strongs #3309 ) One of the meanings of this word, is to be distracted. As we know it, distractions are put in place to take our minds off something more important. In this case, the goal of worry is to remove our focus from The Kingdom of God. But even with this knowledge, there's something deeper here. Simply put, the obsession with worry is a delicately constructed idol. You clear space in your mind, environment and life just to give it the perfect fit. You create the perfect statue as you build one worry on top of the other. As your day goes on, you continuously glance over at it, just to make sure you're giving it attention. You spend hours meditating in it's presence, allowing it to guide and further construct your thoughts. You even buy it precious adornments by the invested interest you have in it. You see, Jesus doesn't only tell us to not worry because it's a distraction, but to also protect you from this deeper truth. "Whatever distracts you, has enough of your attention to become an idol to you." It's time to break up with worry... Scripture(s) Meditation: ““Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭25‬-‭34‬ ‭NIV‬‬ Song(s) Meditation: Let Go by DeWayne Woods To listen to today's song meditation, click here. Reflection Question(s): We invite you to discuss below. Why do you worry so much? What effective role has worry played in your life? What do you find yourself worrying about the most? How does worrying help those situations? What will breaking up with worry for good, do for your life? Sun'Ray💕
